Dominate Facebook With These Simple Marketing Tips

Posted by Shaun Nestor on 17 Feb 2012 / 0 Comment

Using Facebook For Marketing TipsFacebook has created a virtual playground for small businesses to get the word out about their business. From business pages, welcome tabs, pictures, videos, and pay-per-click ads – there is no limit to how you can market your business.
But like any social playground, there are hidden dangers within the pages of Facebook. The novice marketer can create a negative impression instead of the impression they want to for their business.

That is why it is important to learn the ins and outs of Facebook before you dive in. In the next few posts, we will look at how to win when it comes to Facebook:

Facebook Marketing Tip #1: Using the Ad well:

When you are looking to place an ad in Facebook, it is good to keep these things in mind:

  • Identify your target audience before you begin. If you do not refine you audience from the start, you will get limited results. Facebook is massive! If you limit your niche to 1% of Facebook, you will still be reaching out to over seven million people… Let that sink in.
  • Write the text of your ad focused only on that niche. Let every word be crafted just for them.
  • Include an image that would appeal to your target market. If you are not good at graphics or sizing pictures, go to fiverr.com and have someone create a picture or graphic for you for $5.
  • Have the URL point to the destination you desire. Facebook Ads are great for promoting your Facebook Page, but it works just as well pointing to your website (be sure you create a landing page specific to each ad)
  • Create more than one ad! You should be testing which text, image, and call to action combination works best. Don’t be afraid to mix it up and try 5, 10, or 15 different ad combinations.
  • Make sure that you have a call to action in your text. It can be as simple as “click here,” but make sure you ask them to do something.
  • The average Facebook marketer will skim over the powerful targeting tool contained within Facebook Ads. Do not make this mistake. Facebook has made sure that you can tell it exactly whom you want your message to reach.
  • Focus in on the cities you want. Focus in on the activities and hobbies that you want your audience to be interested in. Keep an eye on estimated reach, if it goes to low, you can back off some on the filters. But do not be afraid to play with it. This will maximize your dollars and results.

In the end, marketing with Facebook can be a very lucrative effort. If you play your cards right, you will get a flood of people to your web page of Facebook Page. Now get out there and have some fun with harnessing the world’s largest social media platform.
