ScreenScape: Use the Web to Create Digital Display Ads
Walk into just about any movie theater or sports or music venue and you’ll likely see a slew of bright flat-panel TVs with information about upcoming events, special offers and services and other information. As a consumer, I know I’m drawn to bright, shiny objects — especially if I’m waiting in line.
As hardware prices drop and connectivity becomes ubiquitous, more and more businesses are using flat-panel monitors or televisions to display advertising, business information, and other content to visitors. ScreenScape provides companies or individuals with an easy, web-based system of setting up a custom display screen and filling it with static and dynamic information.
For business owners or proprietors, setting up these sorts of displays and keeping them up to date can be difficult. The displays are often powered by PowerPoint or Keynote or some sort of pre-created video content and updating or deploying across multiple screens can be difficult.
ScreenScape’s approach is to take the power of the web — and Adobe Flash — and use it to power a display. Users can create content on a web-based backend, customize the template, and then just point the computer powering the display to a web address to show the content.
